Marc-André ter Stegen is on the verge of joining Ajax after Barcelona successfully resolved the final obstacle delaying the transfer.
According to RAC1, all tax-related issues concerning the German goalkeeper's salary have now been settled, allowing the loan agreement to be completed. Ter Stegen is now expected to continue his career in the Netherlands, with only the official announcement remaining.
TAX ISSUES FINALLY RESOLVED
The main obstacle preventing the deal from being finalized was the financial and tax structure surrounding Ter Stegen's salary.
Following negotiations between all parties, those issues have now been fully resolved, paving the way for the goalkeeper's loan move to Ajax.
The agreement marks another important step in Barcelona's efforts to manage their wage bill while ensuring the player continues to receive regular first-team football.
BARCELONA TO PAY 90% OF HIS WAGES
As part of the agreement, Barcelona will continue to cover 90% of Ter Stegen's salary throughout his loan spell.
Although the Catalan club will still pay the majority of his wages, the move provides greater financial flexibility while allowing Ajax to add one of Europe's most experienced goalkeepers to their squad.
SECOND CONSECUTIVE LOAN SPELL
This will be Ter Stegen's second consecutive loan move, following his spell at Girona last season.
The German international is currently with Barcelona's squad at St. George's Park, but according to RAC1, he is expected to leave the training camp in the coming hours to complete the final formalities of his move to Ajax.
With the tax issues resolved and all agreements now in place, the official confirmation of the transfer is expected shortly.
